It has been a very strange month for stitching this month. It hasn’t been helped by the heatwaves that we’ve had which always saps my concentration but for some reason I have found it very difficult to settle into any of my projects this month. I’ve also found it very difficult to stick with a method of stitching. I just want autumn to arrive.

It took me longer than expected to finish off page 23 and I can’t really explain why that would be. Maybe there was more left on the page to stitch than I was expecting. There were lots of colour changes but nothing that was causing me any problems.

Once I had finished the page I decided that I would work across the remaining three pages on this row instead of working on pages. There is a little bit of house left on this page but it is mostly back to tree branches and the seed pods on the tree. I think I was coping well with that but then it began to feel that getting across the pages was taking far too long. That is really down to the branches meaning that I follow the colours down through several row blocks. So I might not be feeling that I’m getting across the row I’m actually stitching a lot of the lower rows which should lead to big jumps when I reach the row blocks that those parts are in.

At the moment I’m not sure whether I’ll continue with this or whether I’ll revert back to concentrating on each page but that isn’t a decision that I need to make until October.
